Norwegian stand on POLEKO 2008, Central Europe’s largest fair for environmental technology

WARSAW: This year the POLEKO fair will be organized in Poznan, Poland, from the 27th to the 30th October. From one year to another the event has been growing, and now it holds the leading position as the largest international event of this kind in Central and Eastern Europe.

In 2007 the number of exhibitors was close to 1 000 and the fair attracted over 23 000 visitors from 32 countries. As a leader in the region, POLEKO is a unique platform for meetings of contractors coming from Eastern and Western Europe. This year’s show is expected to be even larger, as the 20th anniversary of POLEKO will be celebrated.

The most important sectors presented at POLEKO are:

• water and waste water,
• solid waste management,
• recycling,
• clean energy with a special emphasis on renewables,
• noise and vibrations,
• measurement and control equipment,
• environmental education.

In 2008 a new event will accompany POLEKO, the International fair for municipal technologies, KOMTECHNIKA.

This year Innovation Norway’s Warsaw office is planning to organize once again a national Norwegian stand at POLEKO. Last year the Norwegian national stand appeared at POLEKO for the first time with a representation of  18 companies, many of them belonging to two clusters: Green Business Norway and CleanTech Mid-Norway. The event was perceived by most of the participants as successful, and a number of them expressed their interest in taking part in the event in 2008 as well.

Scandinavian Co-operation
At POLEKO 2008, Norway, Denmark and Sweden are planning to have their national stands in the same hall, close to one another, with a common Scandinavian cafeteria between the stands. On the second day of the fair, October 28, a joint Norwegian-Danish-Swedish seminar, “CLEAN & GREEN”, will take place.

Here all  three countries will present  recently developed technology solutions in the area of water and sewage management, waste and recycling and implementation of renewable energy sources. The seminar will be opened by the ambassadors of the three countries to Poland.

A match-making event is planned and a number of other happenings, where Norwegian companies will have a chance to come in contact with possible partners from Poland and other countries in the region.

All companies interested in participation in this year’s POLEKO Fair and/or in the CLEAN & GREEN Seminar are invited to take contact with Innovation Norway’s office in Warsaw; Ewa Kwast, tel. +48-601 43 86 86, ewa.kwast@innovationnorway.no
